My collection (III): Creation Ent Xena's Battle Sword 25/500

Hello again!

Continuing with the posts about my personal collection, I bring you my Xena battle sword replica distributed by Creation Entertainment!

Made by the propmasters of the show in New Zealand, this beauty is cast of aluminum and is an exact copy of what Lucy Lawless used on-screen. It presents real leather and is adorned with paua inlays (the greenish blue stones are actually abalone shells typical from from New Zealand). The hilt is painted with patinas to look like real copper, and the blade has also been treated to make it look used and "battle-worn".

I can tell you the result is astounding!

Here you have some pics of it.

Both sides of the sword in full length, opposed one to the other.

A detail of the pommel top, from both sides.
The patina work is really gorgeous.

You may have noticed that one of the sides of the blade has an engraved inscription close to the hilt: "New Zealand Made". Here are some shots where you can see it clearer:

Unlike my chakrams, this did come with COA. I'm happy about that, cause with Creation swords there is no other obvious way to tell when they were made, or which number they are.

As you can see, I have number 25 of 500, a very low number! That's great, cause early numbers had much better quality regarding little details.

The Certificate of Authenticity.

>> EDIT: I recently found the ads Creation Entertainment originally made to sell their Xena sword replica. The text in it sheds some very interesting extra information about the sword, so I reproduce it here for you:

"Forged by the actual prop masters for Xena Warrior Princess, this collectible is an exact duplicate of Xena's incredible sword. This sword is 31 1/2 inches long, and 4.92 inches across the hilt. It has inlaid paua shells in the handle and is bound with black leather on the hand grip. It has an aged bass patina on the hilt and the bad is rough and battle worn. This sword includes a numbered and signed certificate of authenticity. The Xena sword is limited to an edition of 500".

    1. Sorry Jay, but no idea right now. I'm sure one will eventually appear on eBay, but right now they're quite expensive. Good luck with the search! Cheers

  4. Thank you for these photos! I am making a 3d model of Xena and Argo and I am making a prop (the sword). And I am using these images as reference, I hope that's okay. You took great shots from perfect angles so thank you. This is super awesome!
