My Collection (VIII): Gabrielle's S5 Necklace 216?/2500

Hey guys!

I hope you all enjoyed the Last Creation Entertainment Xena Con at Burbank this weekend if you were able to attend. I sadly wasn't able to attend, but my hopes lie in the next Paris Con.

Anyhow, let's get to business. Today I bring you photos (and some info) of my newly acquired Gabrielle's S5 necklace replica, sold back in the day by the company Creation Entertainment.

Full view of the necklace.

As I already commented on my Facebook page, I got this beauty along with Gabby's S6 necklace (which I'll review next) and although the mail took ages I'm very very happy they're finally here.

This kind of necklace was worn by Gabrielle/Renée O'Connor from S5 "Chakram" to S6 "The Haunting of Amphipolis". It's made of silver and composed of two oval beads in the sides and one round bead in the middle.

In this last pic you can take a good look at the beautiful patterns on the beads, which due to their tiny size were in fact very rarely seen onscreen. The brown cord is regulable (a nice touch) but very fragile - so I wouldn't recommend anyone to wear it.

The necklace comes in a gorgeous case lined in green velvet that cradles and highlights the necklace quite nicely. The inner side of the lid features the Xena Warrior Princess logo in gold.

It's worth noting that unlike the original prop necklaces worn by Renée, the replica necklaces distributed by Creation Ent don't have actual beads, but casts. A little trick to make the production cheaper and recognizable.

Like all the other Creation replicas, these necklaces were part of a limited edition - 2,500 units worldwide, though that number was never reached. The highest number I've seen is #582. Meaning they are pretty rare (more so considering some must have been broken and/or lost since 2001).

All necklace replicas came with a COA, but I'm afraid this one is missing. However I'm inclined to believe this might be #216. Not a bad number at all! Curious note: the necklaces that were produced later present a dull matt finish instead of the shiny look we see in mine.

I leave you now with some pics of Gab donning her necklace. Enjoy!
